Tiff to PDF Conversion for Document Storage
With Telecom Document Management, Document Storage Online, Record Management Software, Document Management Solution and Document Storage, scanned images are normally stored in TIFF format. One problem with TIFF images is that they are not searchable, making it very hard to find a certain word or phrase in a 30 page scanned document. Well, we have a fix for that. We can automatically convert each Document Storage TIFF document you add to WebDOCK into Adobe Acrobat's PDF format. You then can use Acrobat's search tools to find a word or phrase within the scanned document lightning fast. We knew you would like that.
Adding Document Storage Documents
WebDOCK currently offers four different ways to add Document Storage documents to your storage space. You may click on the following upload methods to learn more about each:
- * WebSCAN
- * Upload Page
- * Email
- * Fax
Since WebSCAN is the most powerful and widely used method of the four for handling Document Storage, we will focus on it during this walk-through. WebSCAN is a full featured document imaging application that you install on your windows based PC or laptop. It can be used to scan and import paper documents as well as process electronic documents already on your hard drive or server. In this walk-through we will focus on scanning a paper document and pushing it up to the WebDOCK server.
Scanning Document Storage
Once you have placed your Document Storage document in the scanner, you will then click on the Scan Document button within the WebSCAN application. After a short time your document will be visible and you will select a folder to place the document into. Once selected, the proper index fields will be displayed for that folder. Index fields are a way for you to store key pieces of information about a document, and then search for that piece of information at a later time. Index fields usually store important information like dates, names, check numbers, social security numbers, etc. Once you have all of the information filled out, you click on Save All Pages, then you process the next document.
Uploading Document Storage
When you are ready to upload the batch of Document Storage documents that you have processed, simply click on the Upload to WebDOCK button. You will be asked to connect to the Internet and then all the scanned documents and index information is securely transferred up to the server for processing. If the upload process is interrupted for any reason, all information will be re-sent on the next upload until it is done successfully.
What is true about Document Storage holds also for Online File Storage, Online Storage Space, Management Image, and Document Management Software .
