Frequently Asked Questions
This page has been provided to help answer the most comment questions people have about WebDOCK and its services. If, after reading this document, you still have unanswered questions, please email us about them.

What is WebDOCK?
WebDOCK is an Internet based document management system, designed to store both paper and electronic documents for its clients. One of WebDOCK's greatest advantages over traditional in-house document management systems is that WebDOCK is accessible via any Internet connection. This means that your employees are able to quickly access their documents from work, home, or on the road.

How does WebDOCK work?
WebDOCK is Internet based, so the majority of the application is accessed via a web browser. Simply connect your computer to the Internet, via a modem or high speed connection, and then point your browser to http://www.webdockonline.com. Once there, simply click on the login link and enter your user id and password. Within seconds you will be presented with search options, similar to those of a typical search engine. At this point, finding your document is a matter of choosing a keyword and/or a folder. Your document will quickly appear in the results page for you to look at, print or send to someone. It's that easy.

Adding documents to WebDOCK is equally simple. To scan in paper documents, we provide you with WebSCAN, our powerful paper document scanner application that you install on your local computer. To scan a document, you simply place the document on an attached TWAIN compliant scanner and tell the program to begin the scan. Once the scan is complete, an image of your document appears and you are able to choose which folder it belongs in, as well as enter the document title and index fields. Once you have entered all of the information you can save it and move on to the next document. Once you have scanned a batch of documents, you can initiate the upload process which quickly sends the batch of documents to the WebDOCK server for processing. Within minutes, your documents are online, ready to be viewed by others within your company.

How much does WebDOCK cost?
WebDOCK's monthly fees are based on how much disk space your documents occupy. We have worked very hard to provide our clients with a simple, affordable and powerful solution to their document storage and retrieval needs. Costing only a fraction of what our competitors are charging, WebDOCK is all about value. As you store more data, the cost per GB decreases. To learn more about our pricing plans and additional services, please use our Information Request form to request a formal quote.

How does the 90 free trial work?
We are currently offering a 90 day risk-free trial for you to use WebDOCK and see how it can benefit your company. With this trial you get three months of free storage ($1,500 value) and a free copy of the WebSCAN client software. The only thing you will have to buy is your client licenses, which are refundable if you decide to cancel during the 90 day trial. So, basically you have nothing to loose and everything to gain by giving WebDOCK a try.

Who can use WebDOCK?
Anyone and everyone. If you have a file cabinet with valuable documents or a hard drive full of important data files, WebDOCK is right for you. WebDOCK is ideal for all types of businesses including Real Estate, Insurance, Legal, Retail, Health/Medical and more. It doesn't matter if you have a thousand documents, or two million, WebDOCK can help your staff organize and find documents fast and more efficiently than they are now, guaranteed.

Are my documents safe?
Yes. Our highest priority is making sure client documents are kept safe and secure at all times. Not only do we have the usual security measures covered (128-bit SSL, Firewalls, etc.), but we also proactively monitor and respond to potential threats as well. To learn more about how WebDOCK secures client documents, visit our Security section.

Does WebDOCK provide disaster recovery?
Yes. WebDOCK automatically provides you with disaster recovery. Since your important documents are stored off site at all times, they are available even if your offices are destroyed by fire or some other catastrophe. This means that you can quickly regroup in a new or temporary office space and access your documents within hours, instead of days or weeks. We also use redundant hardware and perform nightly backups so that a hardware failure on our end won't keep you from your important data. If you have further questions about how WebDOCK can provide your company with disaster recover, feel free to email our Disaster Recover Team with your questions or concerns.

How can WebDOCK benefit my company?
There are many ways that your company can benefit from WebDOCK. Your customer service will improve because your staff will be able to find documents faster and more efficiently. Your employees won't waste time searching for misfiled documents. Your traveling employees will be able to access documents from the road. Your documents will be safe and sound even if your offices are destroyed by a catastrophe. These are just a few of the many benefits to using WebDOCK. To learn about even more ways WebDOCK can benefit your company, visit our Features section.

Why should I use an ASP?
While there are many good reasons, one of the best is that Application Service Providers (ASP's) offer most of the same services as that of a traditional in-house application, but at a fraction of the cost. Another is that most ASP solutions can be implemented in less than a week, versus 30-45 days for their in-house counterpart. All of this adds up to a faster implementation at a fraction of the cost, which is what we all want. Visit our ASP section to learn more about how ASP products can help you save time and money, especially WebDOCK.

Do I need expensive hardware?
No. As an application service provider (ASP), we bear the costs of hardware and software neccessary to manage your documents. You simply pay a small monthly storage fee for the amount of space you occupy. As for hardware, in most cases, you can use existing computers to upload and access your documents. To learn more about WebDOCK's hardware and software requirements, visit our Software Requirements section.
